The latest review of the AS 7717 Signalling Testing and Commissioning draft is now open for Public Consultation.

How this product helps the rail industry

This Standard enables the safe and efficient movement of passenger and freight trains across Australia’s railways by providing a detailed approach to signalling testing and commissioning. AS 7717 ensures the system functions as designed and also provides protection to rail safety workers when working on or near the railway.

AS 7717 outlines the requirements for testing and methods for testing typical signalling apparatus and systems that form part of the signalling systems in Australian railway corridors. 

The review includes updates that support the testing of digital train control systems, new requirements for testing and commissioning onboard systems, removes redundant information, and includes information on communications systems that interface with signalling systems.

How to contribute

AS 7717 Signalling Testing and Commissioning is available for public consultation for 60 days. All interested parties are encouraged to provide comments during this time.
