Membership supports a safer, more efficient and interoperable Australian rail industry by enabling nationally consistent standards, guidance and collaboration across the rail system.

Membership information

As a member, you join an industry-led organisation committed to advancing safety and standards in rail. Membership provides access to products and participation in industry collaboration, with governance involvement through the nomination and election of Industry Directors representing different industry sectors.

Our membership spans the rail industry, with open enrolment for organisations involved in rail.

Who membership is for

Membership supports participation across the rail system, including operators, network owners and managers, suppliers and contractors.

Passenger operations
Passenger rail operators and maintainers.
Network owners and managers
Infrastructure owners and network managers.
Freight operations
Freight operators and associated maintainers.
Suppliers and contractors
Suppliers, contractors and other industry participants.

Membership class assessment

Membership classes are determined based on:

  • Australian rail turnover
  • Membership fees are by financial year and in AUD
  • Membership class may be subject to re-classification if rail turnover changes

FAQs

I’d like to become a member, what do I have to do?
Complete the online Membership Application Form at: /membership/application-form/ and submit it to ARISO.

The Company Secretary will review your application and make a recommendation to the CEO concerning the class of membership, where applicable. This process normally takes a few days, and applications are treated as a priority.

Is my organisation eligible for membership?
Membership is open to organisations involved in rail. If you are unsure, contact us at info@ariso.org.au.
What is the membership structure?
Membership classes are based on Australian rail turnover and reviewed where circumstances change. See the table above, or contact info@ariso.org.au.
