AS 7720 Signalling Equipment Enclosure and Wiring

The closing date for nominations – Thursday 2 April 2026

The Australian Rail Industry Standards Organisation (ARISO) is seeking nominations from expert signalling designers and engineers, maintainers, asset managers and equipment manufacturers, to join a Development Group to review AS 7720 Signalling Equipment Enclosure and Wiring.

How will this help the rail industry?

Signalling systems form a critical component of a safe railway system. The enclosures that contain signalling equipment need to be well designed, constructed, installed, and maintained as part of the safety critical signalling system.

A nationally harmonised approach to signalling enclosures and their internal design supports transferability of skills, and enables economies of scale for the purchase and installation of these items of infrastructure.

About

This review will aim to create a nationally harmonised approach to signalling enclosures and their internal design that supports transferability of skills and enables economies of scale for the purchase and installation of these items of infrastructure.
