AS 7530 Rolling Stock Electrical Systems
The closing date for nominations – Friday 13 February 2026
The Australian Rail Industry Standards Organisation (ARISO) is seeking nominations from experts with experience in electrical design, construction, testing and maintenance, to join a Development Group to review AS 7530 Rolling Stock Electrical Systems.
How will this help the rail industry?
Modern rolling stock uses comprehensive electrical systems for both control and traction. This Standard provides good practice for design, construction and maintenance requirements for on board electrical systems, wiring, separation of wiring, conduits and earthing requirements to minimise overload and potential fire risks. It is also important that electrical system design removes, so far as is reasonably practicable, electrical hazards to passenger and crew safety.
About
AS 7530 Rolling Stock Electrical Systems represents a common national approach defining the minimum performance requirements for rolling stock electrical systems. This review will focus on reformatting of the Standard to conform with current AS SG-006 requirements, a review of all definitions, normative and informative references, and any technology updates since the current version was issued in 2018.

Development Group membership is voluntary and requires the support of your organisation to attend and contribute. A minimum of half a day per month time commitment will be required between February 2026 and November 2026.
